The Bahai Temple is here in the north side of Chicago. I think that Bahai Temple will be in the theme "The Sacred Realm."
Is a temple and it serve a bahai religion. Is not exactly a religion because is for all people and is open to all the public. This place is reserved for worship this means that is open to all religious and just one is putting together. Here doesn't matter if you are catholic, islamic etc... is to put together the people. With just one idea "one god". The First Bahai temple was made in iran for Mirza Husayn'Ali (1817-1892) an arabic person that was called "The glory of God" There are just 9 temples in all over the world and this one in chicago is considered the one most important. It have 9 entrance and all entrance are the principal. it have 9 gardens too, 9 windows all is made with 9.
The symbol showed on the picture is on the top of the temple and is the representation of a sentence in Arab that means or entirely glorious glory. And is the most important symbol in the temple.
In the tracery of the towers are intertwined all religious symbols from the past, showing every religious person "Welcome to this temple exemplifies the universal brotherhood."
I think that the Bahai Temple match the theme "The Sacred Realm" because was made for rituals of worship and was for prayer someone. And at that years they really don't know that will be a famous architectural temple.
Hi Kenia! Is Sergio, I have been there, and you are right, the building is amazing. Although I loved the interior, the pointed arches and all the details in its surroundings, the exterior is speechless. Thanks that you chose this building, I forgot about it. See you in class.
